Zakia leans into some magical and mystical medieval sounds this week, by the likes of British-Burundian bard Book of Voices, French folk group Malicorne and LA guitarist Will Graefe. There’s new releases from Mohamed Alassane Karzo, Alice, ddwy and Ninanda, as well as music made from corn and some spaghetti western-esque exotica.
There'll be a special Dreambience mix cooked up by the Californian keyboard player, producer and dreamweaver Nico Georis, who transports us to his rainbow realities with dubbed out ambient sounds including Laraaji, Alice Coltrane and his own recordings of slot machines.
Plus, we hear from fellow 6 Music presenter Mary Anne Hobbs, ahead of the launch of her new show as part of the Sunday crew. Mary Anne shares one of her recurring dreams and a soporific selection to set the tone for her return to the airwaves.
