DJ, broadcaster, writer and dreamer Zakia Sewell provides the soundtrack to your dreams - playing music to ease the mind, soothe the soul, and open portals to new dimensions…

Dive deep into the mists of time with Zakia and a big stack of medieval sounds, renaissance selections and plenty of choral music. There’ll be chants from monks in Senegal, a jazzy take on Greensleeves, and a bit of everyone’s favourite 12th-century mystic Hildegard von Bingen. There’s also plenty of medieval-inspired folk and prog rock from the 60s and 70s, including King Crimson, John Renbourn, Donovan and The Yardbirds, as well as a load of new releases with an ancient twist, from the likes of Tarta Relena, Maurice Louca, Laura Cannell and Susannah Stark.

Plus, we hear from the British-Burundian modern-day bard Muco, whose latest release reimagines Middle English folk songs accompanied by the Inanga, a zither from Burundi. Muco reflects on his dreams, his medieval inspirations, and introduces a song inspired by a 7th-century poem that supposedly came to its author in a dream…
