DJ, broadcaster, writer and dreamer Zakia Sewell provides the soundtrack to your dreams - playing music to ease the mind, soothe the soul, and open portals to new dimensions.

In honour of All Queens Day, Zakia celebrates the life and music of one of Zakia’s favourite artists, the cosmic harp and piano player, Alice Coltrane. The healing, expansive sounds of the self-taught harpist, Alice Coltrane, were always on in the background at home for Zakia. Her music has also been a rich site of rediscovery for Zakia later in life, when she first started her record collection.

Across the show, Zakia selects some favourites from Coltrane’s back catalogue, alongside artists whose music she has inspired, like Laura Nyro, Brandee Younger and Nala Sinephro.

Helping Zakia to celebrate is long-time Alice Coltrane fan, acclaimed journalist, and writer of a forthcoming biography of Alice Coltrane, Andy Beta. Plus, two renowned harp players influenced by Alice Coltrane’s work: the California-based multi-instrumentalist, Nailah Hunter, and the Ukrainian harpist and educator, Alina Bzhezhinska.

Plus, a special Alice Coltrane-inspired Dreambience mix.
